7 Ways to Stop the Busywork (and do more Great Work)

As you'll see from this short movie, everything you do falls into one of three buckets:

  • Bad Work
  • Good Work
  • Great Work

We all want to do more Great Work - the work that makes a difference, that lights us up, that matters. But we seem to spend our time just trying to get through our inbox and attending meetings, without ever quite getting to the Great Work.

In this fun, practical session Michael will share seven practical ways you can do more of the work that matters - and less of all that other stuff.

Michael Bungay Stanier is the Senior Partner of Box of Crayons. His new book Do More Great Work: Stop the busywork and start the work that matters is a best-seller on Amazon. Michael was a Rhodes Scholar and was the 2006 Canadian Coach of the Year. He last spoke in 2007 for the New Path Network.

A Note on getting there during G20 week:

Considering the security boundaries and issues with the G20 Summit, you need to consider alternate routes. Thankfully Camaraderie is outside of the security zone, but there will be associated difficulties.

Camaraderie does not recommend using the subway beyond Queen station and Osgoode station or using the King streetcar if coming from the west. The Queen streetcar should be fine if coming from the west, though it might be a closed-door service until Yonge St. You can stay on until the Church St stop on the Queen St 501. If you are coming from the north then you may want to take the subway only to Queen and walk the extra few minutes on Adelaide. If you are coming the Bloor line then consider going to Sherbourne station and transferring to the Sherbourne bus.
